Bye, USA! 🇺🇸❤️ The more I travel, the more I realize places become so much about the people. It’s a bittersweet farewell. But I hear reality beckoning. Past sunsets from airplane windows. Flying over a sea of city below. Flickering like lighthouses that seemed to whisper goodbye for now- until we meet again. I find myself back in Tel Aviv. I cozy up once more to sun-drenched beaches and dream making. I blink twice and breathe out vacation- it flutters from my lungs. My brown eyes lock, my lashes curl up, ready for hustle. I smile at palm trees and a Middle Eastern July breeze tousling my gypsy curls. I tread in the footsteps of strong, fearless women before me who set sail across seas. What’s the best part about being back in the US of A? This ❤️❤️❤️ These moments. Being back with the people I love. Living abroad is magic- but so is being home. It was my best friend Rachel’s 30th birthday yesterday- and I couldn’t help thinking she was throwing one of her legen-(wait for it)-dary parties up in that big kaleidoscope sky as I boarded my plane. I’m sure her angel wings were shining bright- gold like sunrises and the kind of warmth that dances in your heart for lifetimes. I miss that bubbly girl- but I know I’m one of the lucky ones; to have such a beautiful soul to love forever. Rachel’s last gift to me was introducing me to @emmcwi02 - someone I knew I loved before we even met. I’d like to think of Rachel out there in the infinite universe making ice cream sandwiches with a singsong ‘hello friend!’ always on the brink of humming. I’d like to think Rachel is always celebrating the milestones in our lives. To have such a true friend in this world is rare. And thanks to Rachel- she left me with such a true friend in Erin- for us to watch over each other in times of laughter and haze; just like Rachel always would have done. Happy Birthday, Rachel.
